About Us

The roots of SSG Cases trace back to 1986 when my grandfather, Tom Greeff, together with partners Andre Steenkamp and Mark Schafer, founded the business manufacturing high-quality bags for musical instruments. The name SSG represents this heritage: Schafer, Steenkamp & Greeff. Over the years, our factory grew into a respected exporter to the US market, turning raw materials into world-class products right here on South African soil.

In 2010, economic challenges forced a shift in focus as our biggest client moved production overseas, threatening the future of our factory. Driven by my own love for hunting and shooting, I resurrected the factory and reinvented SSG Cases, focusing on firearm bags crafted with the same care and quality of earlier generations – but engineered for shooters like myself.

Today, we offer a wide range of Rateltaai products designed for all shooting enthusiasts – from air rifles to big bore double rifles. Our innovative designs are inspired by direct user feedback and personal field testing. Proud manufacturers for brands such as Wildebees, Stevenson Hamilton, and Legionnaire, we supply top firearm dealers nationwide with locally made, dependable, and rugged firearm protection solutions.

All our products are proudly South African made, manufactured in our own factory with unparalleled craftsmanship. We don’t operate a retail department ourselves but partner closely with a national network of authorized firearm dealers to bring our premium Rateltaai products within reach. Our collaborations with renowned brands and trusted retailers reinforce our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
